POD Design ® & Brooks Atwood, established in 2003, is a Brooklyn based international design studio. Specializing in architecture, industrial design and interior design, POD Design challenges traditional methods and cultural preconceptions to create inventive designs and products. Innovation takes many forms and details reinforce the whole, allowing for modern yet custom interiors and evolving designs.
If you need help thinking outside the box, we offer creative interventions, design strategy & consulting, creative thinking, trend forecasting and public speaking to wake you up! Brooks has taught design thinking for over 8 years at Parsons The New School for Design and New Jersey Institute of Technology’s College of Architecture & Design.
POD Design & Brooks Atwood were listed as one of six emerging US Design Practices by the Museum of Arts & Design (aka MAD) and Eyes In Magazine featured Brooks as one of the world’s innovative creators.
POD Design has gained media attention from publications such as The New York Times, Brooklyn Magazine, Esquire and Wired. A professor of design at Parsons and NJIT, Brooks has been featured on the Today Show with Kathie Lee & Hoda, HGTV Design Star Season 8, DIY Network for Esquire Magazine’s “The Ultimate Bachelor Pad,” and on Showtime’s “Show House” at Manhattan’s Cassa Hotel. Atwood has also given numerous lectures, most notably, at the Museum of Arts & Design in New York City, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Sydney, and the Australian Centre of the Moving Image in Melbourne. POD Design’s work has also been featured during NYCxDesign 2013, ICFF and WantedDesign in New York City.
POD Design is committed to sustainability and believes that admirable design starts with the environment and keeping it healthy. We have therefore signed The Designers Accord and are committed to dealing with issues that face our times and planet.
