Video:

“Portable Presents Brooks Atwood”

This June, Portable Studios had a super exciting time introducing Brooks Atwood and his wife Estelle to the Australian design community. Brooks, who advocates designing from a place of risk – staring failure square in the face and finding creativity in impossibility, took Portable Talks audiences in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney (where he was part of the Vivid Live festival) on a sometimes wacky yet incredibly informative and inspiring journey into his design process and work.

Brooks, who is a leading American design thinker, practitioner and academic, credits failure as his greatest design inspiration. His presentation, titled ‘What would you do if you knew you couldn’t fail?’ demonstrated that groundbreaking design is created when you work collaboratively, take risks, continuously fail and most importantly never forget to be sexy.

Here’s what Portable Talks audiences had to say:
“Brooks presentation was pitch perfect. It was both entertaining and useful, which is difficult to achieve.”
“Brooks was down to earth and realistic”
“Brooks is the most inspiring creative I’ve ever seen!”
“The presenter was very entertaining and crazy”
