The American Institute of Architecture Students at the New Jersey Institute of Technology (AIAS NJIT) will be hosting the semi-annual AIAS Northeast Quad Conference this October in Newark, New Jersey! As current Architecture students, we have an invested interest in what our world will become in 5, 10, even 20 years from now. It is our mission to showcase the potential of urban environments, like Newark, and look forward to a progressive future.

This four day conference will focus on what we need to do as designers, planners and architects in order to strengthen the urban fabric in which we thrive. Hundreds of students and professionals alike will gather to discuss current and relevant issues in the profession and to understand how we can make these known to the general public. It will be supported by groups like the Project for Public Spaces who will be sending their president, Fred Kent, to speak on their behalf as our Keynote Speaker. To reinforce the message, there will be workshops, tours, and discussions all focused around the theme of Revitalization. The conference will also provide opportunities for students and professionals to network. The conference will host events such as Portfolio Reviews and Firm Crawls to help strengthen the relationships between architects and future architects.

Join us from October 18th to October 21st this fall to live and learn about the city and the potential it has to benefit us all. Each day will have a series of workshops and tours culminating with a main event that will be sure to inspire. Please visit AIASNJIT.com to learn all about what this conference has to offer. At the AIAS of NJIT, we are passionate about what we do and what we stand for. Our chapter will provide the tools necessary to reinvent what it means to be urban and reinvigorate the current state of our cities.
